If you're were a fan of alternative punk back in the late 70s and are looking for something a bit more psychedelic yet new and fresh, then perhaps you need to check out the new track from Billy Stark Stone with Rico Blythe on guitar. Both were members of late 70s NYC punk band The Blessed, so you can imagine they've been round the musical block a few times and picked up some tricks of the trade along the way.
It definitely feels like this track would be right at home in a room filled with smoke and some flashing coloured lights going off on the walls.
Would have to describe the guitars as if Keith Richards had a few too many and tried to riff behind the back of his head, but is that a bad thing necessarily? The vocals are almost spooky in places and again almost have a punked up Stones feel to them.
It might not be everyone's cup of tea on here, but you need to remember that techniques used in this kind of music have influenced the likes of Green Day, Foo Fighters and other modern acts.
